Victron / Ford

I have seen this asked a few times in the Facebook group, and I also had to figure this out. Of course Expedition Portal is the classic answer sheet for 12v wiring. They have been around for a long time.

Anyway. I used the supplied Victron charger on the LP power plate. With the Anderson plug.

Next is the wire itself. LP was already using #8 AWG copper stranded, and after looking into it, I decided to use that size as well. #8 is rated for 40-55 amps according to a cursory Google search.

I installed a 40 amp breaker onto the powerplate and it is in series with the positive wire. There is another 40 amp breaker in the engine bay right by my starting battery. The engine bay breaker is in series on the positive wire as well.

Bothe the positive and negative wires are tapped directly to my truck battery.

As a note, you will need to purchase ring terminals, zip ties, and wire loom. Additionally, I purchased one coil of wire. I used red Phasing tape to mark my pos lead, and white to mark ground. Ensure you mark both ends and do not cross the connections.
